Kanye West ‘Envious’ Of Kendrick Lamar, Says Charlamagne Tha God: ‘He Wishes This Was Him’

Charlamagne claims that Kanye West is releasing yet another round of divisive tirades this week because he is envious of all the accolades Kendrick Lamar is getting. God.

The contentious rapper posted a series of hateful remarks about the Jewish community to X late Thursday (February 6), starting with a demand that Diddy be released from prison.

Then, as he dismissed the idea of antisemitism altogether and claimed to be a “racist” and a “Nazi” who “loves Hitler,” the tirade became more and more inflammatory.

Charlamagne shared his opinions on Ye’s intentions during the Friday morning (February 7) discussion of the outbursts on The Breakfast Club.

In reference to K. Dot’s sweep at the Grammys last Sunday (February 2) and his preparation for his Super Bowl Halftime performance this Sunday (February 9), he remarked, “We do realize Kanye has been acting out all week because he is envious of Kendrick’s moment, right?” He wishes this had been his moment, which is why he is [seeking] attention. Since Kendrick is having a moment as a prolific artist and defeated his top rival, Drake, he wishes this had been him.

Kanye wishes that were him right now, which is why he has been acting so strangely to get attention all week long. He wants people to do what they are doing right now, which is to talk about him. But in comparison to what Kendrick did at the Grammys on Sunday and what he will do at the Super Bowl this Sunday, Kanye, that is a sideshow.

“All these antics are cheap,” he added. In the meantime, Kanye, you saw people on that stage getting recognition for their artistic abilities, just like you used to.
Your number one opponent’s diss record earned Kendrick Lamar five rewards. You wish you were that person!

Kanye West did, however, show love for Kendrick Lamar after the Compton rapper’s song “Not Like Us” won the 2025 Grammy Awards.

The chart-topping diss track, intended at Kendrick and Kanye’s mutual rival Drake, won five Oscars on Sunday night (February 2), the most ever for a rap song.

As well as receiving the approval of the Recording Academy’s voting committee, Kendrick also received some public kudos from his “No More Parties In L.A.” colleague Kanye after his momentous night.

In a since-deleted post on Instagram, Ye posted a picture of the GNX MC on the red carpet posing with all of his Grammys, writing it: “Gemini season” along with a goat emoji.

Kanye appeared to be in a conciliatory mood as he also praised the Grammys, with whom he’s had conflicts in the past, for nominating his own Billboard Hot 100 song “Carnival” for Best Rap Song.

The Chicago native went home empty-handed after “Carnival” lost to “Not Like Us,” but he still made headlines because to his wife Bianca Censori’s provocative wardrobe choice.
