LIL DURK: MUSLIMITY AND GANG LIFE ARE INCOMPANY: “I am the one who speaks it.”

Lil Durk made a number of remarks regarding gangs and religion on social media in an effort to manage the way people perceived him.

Durk uploaded a picture on Instagram on Sunday, August 18, with the words, “Don’t label me anything outside of A MAN, A FATHER, and A 100% Muslim.”

In an effort to elaborate on the statement, he later posted a lengthy message on his Instagram Story, which may be seen here.

Durkio wrote, “I’m a Muslim; I don’t gangbang.” “Basically, I’m the one explaining what I said in my post in so many words that you can’t do both. So follow me to my new chapter in life if you follow me as a brother, friend, or icon. I rap what I’ve seen and experienced in my music, not asking people to go do it—a HUGE difference. My life goals will change, but my music won’t.

Durk has recently been thinking about matters other than religion and gangs, such as parenting. Durk said earlier this summer that he’s “happy now” after spending Father’s Day with all of his children.

On Monday, June 17, the Chicago rapper shared a family photo on social media with ten children. “I’m happy now, delete that sad Father’s Day song from my catalogue,” he wrote.

In reference to his 2022 song from his 7220 album, Durk said he was deleting “Unhappy Father’s Day” because he no longer felt that way about the yearly celebration. Lil Durk talks candidly about not spending enough time with his kids in “Unhappy Father’s Fay.”

“I promise you that Father’s Day feels the worst/ Because when I don’t talk to them for a few days, that shit feels like a burden/ I be on stage like it’s all good knowing deep down it hurtin’,” he raps in the song. “And they’re begging for my time, not even trying to look at purses. I’ve sent them off so many times, and now they’re telling me to merchandise it. That’s the worst,” he continues. “I don’t feel like a father on Father’s Day.”

He reluctantly says, “Tell ’em I’m sorry, forgive me/ I’m tryna be their daddy,” in the chorus.
