Louisiana’s New Orleans As the first solo rapper to headline the Super Bowl, Kendrick Lamar delivered a performance that will go down in history, as he continued to take shots at Drake.
In his incredible 15-minute show at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday night (February 9), Kendrick made numerous allusions to his acrimonious conflict with the 6 God before launching into his number-one diss song, “Not Like Us.”

In an apparent reference to Drake’s contentious defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group over “Not Like Us,” the Compton rap artist mocked his bitter rival about halfway through his set by stating in a back-and-forth with female backup dancers: “I want to perform their favorite song… but you know they love to sue.”

“Say Drake, I hear you like ’em young / You better not ever go to cell block one / To any [bitch] that talk to him and they in love / Just make sure you hide your lil’ sister from him,” Kendrick said, smirking at the camera despite self-censoring the line about being a certified pedophile during the song’s actual performance, which was the penultimate song in his set.

With enthusiastic assistance from the full house, he also performed the words, “Tryna strike a chord and it is probably A minor.”

Serena Williams, a Compton native and Drake’s ex-girlfriend, made an unexpected appearance during the halftime show. She was spotted Crip Walking on a raised platform as “Not Like Us” gave way to the last song, “TV Off.”

When the audience lit up to display the words “Game Over” at the very end, continuing the performance’s video game motif, it appeared to be another jab at Drake.

The lower case “a” pendant on Kendrick’s chain, which was also the emblem of his creative company pgLang, led some fans to infer that it was a reference to his “A minor” line from “Not Like Us.”

It is possible that more than 120 million people watched the game on television, as the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 40–22.

Alongside Serena Williams, SZA joined Kendrick Lamar for his Super Bowl halftime performance, helping him play “All the Stars” and “Luther.” Samuel L. Jackson, dressed as Uncle Sam, narrated the theatrical performance.

Mustard also made an appearance during “TV Off’s” final performance.

Drake has not yet responded to the performance; he is presently touring in Australia, thousands of miles away.
